Congratulation to the winners

The movie TULPAN von Sergej Dvortsevoj by Sergej Dvortsevoj won as many as three awards at the Cannes Film Festival. Aside from the Prix Un Certain Regard (A Certain Look-Award), it received the Prix de l’Education Nationale (National Education Award) and the Prix de la Jeunesse ( Youth Award). Congratulations!

At the Festival des Films du Monde - Montreal 2007 (Montreal World Film Festival), the movie 1 Journee von Jacob Berger won the Prix de la Mise en Scene (Staging/Production Award) in the international contest.

At the German Film Awards 2007, the movie Vier Minuten (Four Minutes) by Chris Kraus received various awards:
  • Best Picture, Gold Award
  • Best Performance – female lead: Monica Bleibtreu

  • Best Performance – supporting actress: Hannah Herzsprung
Workingman's Death by Micheal Glawogger received the Lola-Award for best documentary film.

The movie Reine Geschmacksache, (It’s all a matter of taste) by Ingo Rasper received three Awards at the Festival Max Ophüls of 2008:
The Viewers Choice Award, the Award for Best Talented Young Actor 2007 (given to Florian Bartholomäi) and the SR/ZDF-Screenplay Award (given to Tom Streuber and Ingo Rasper in recognition of their screenplay for this movie).

The love story Bye, Bye, Blackbird received an honorable mention by the Film Rating Association in Wiesbaden. This movie by Robinson Savary was co-produced in Germany, Austria, Great Britain and Luxemburg.

REQUIEM was highly valued at the Tallin Black Nights Festival”. The actress Sandra Hüller received the Award for Best Actress for her role in Hans-Christian Schmid’s drama. So far, the movie "REQUIEM" has always been leading the rankings at Award Ceremonies and Festivals; now it was even selected to be on the list of Golden Globe-Nominations.

The Bern Film Award this year goes to Peter von Gunten. The 65 years old filmmaker from Bern will be honored for his life achievement. His films have been screend and awarded worldwide. Appreciation Award goes to Jason Brandenburger for his short film "113".
The short film "Aschenbrüder" by Steve Walker and Markus Heiniger received the Talent Award

After the Golden Leopard "Das Fräulein" won the Sarajevo Filmfestival Heart of Sarajevo in the categories best film and best actress.

4 films processed by SchwarzFilm have been awarded at the 59th Film Festival in Locarno:

"Das Fräulein" by Andrea Staka received the Golden Leopard for the best film in competition.

In the category contemporary filmmakers Angelina Maccarone was awarded with a Golden Leopard for her film "Verfolgt"


The Golden Leopard in the category leopards for tomorrow goes to "Nachtflattern" and the Silver Leopoard goes to "Aschenbrüder" by Steve Walker & Markus Heiniger.

Requiem by Hans-Christian Schmid has received the German Film Award 2006 several times:
  • best fiction film in silver
  • best actress: Sandra Hüller
  • best supporting act: Imogen Kogge
  • best costume design: Betinna Marx
  • best sound design: Ginzel/Jacob/Parisotto/Steyer
Shanghai International Film Festival: "4 Minutes" by director Chris Kraus received the Jin Jue Award for the best fiction film.

Two Golden Gate Awards at the 49th San Francisco International Film Festival:
  • Workingman's Death by Michael Glawogger
  • Folgeschäden (Seeds of Doubt) by Samir Nasr


Velaska Griesebach obtained the Special Jury Award at the Film Festival of Independent Films in Buenos Aires. Her film "Sehnsucht" was highly considered during the Berlin Film Festival 2006.

Schwarz Film's 60th Anniversary

In 1945 Edgar Schwarz established his first workshop in Bern. Today Schwarz Film is an international operating film lab, owned and managed by Philipp Tschäppät. The headquarters are still located in Bern, branches are built up in Zurich, Berlin and Ludwigsburg. The reference list shows many famous names of people from the film business.

More than 200 guests and staff celebrated Schwarz Film's 60th anniversary in the stylish Kornhauskeller in Bern.
